Roofman Movie Rating
This was so much fun. I took myself out to the movies tonight to see Channing Tatum, of course and for some reason, I am absolutely enthralled every time this man is on screen. Why is he so good? Like he doesn't have to be as good as he is, but he simply is a great actor. Roofman is about a series of fuck-ups, and boy, does this man fuck-up. Really all the comedy worked for me and I found how they presented his story really interesting. + it had Ben Mendelsohn and LaKeith Stanfield whom I love. The only critical comment I have is that the voiceover of pissed me off, but that goes for most narrative voiceovers for me.
Honestly, it really made me love this film is it reminded me a lot of my childhood, or at least the way it looked growing up. This movie set in 2003, the year I was born, and so much of the setting and characters look like I remember them growing up. In a lot of the photos I have with me and my dad when I was little he is wearing almost the same outfits Channing Tatum was wearing as costumes. It was just so homey.
Also, we gotta get Kristen Dunst some waterproof mascara.
